Video poker had been famous since decades ago

They are primitive versions of online poker games. Most of these games used to be based on five card stud kind of draw poker. There is not truly any difference between the rules of how these games should be played as they are not any different from the normal rules that apply to games played in tables.

Video poker games are visualized like a computer monitor or a television screen. These machines can be broadly classified in to 3 types; however, they all look similar. The 24 x 48 inches model of video poker is the oldest one and players sit at a chair in front of the monitor to play in this model. A bit advanced model would be one that has a slanted top of the monitor where you can look in to the machine downwards with resting your elbows on the monitor. The third model is called the bar top model where the monitor is built on the top of the bar.

All of the video poker machines have a slot that is handy where one can insert the coins or bar-coded tokens. The pattern of payment for the video poker games might be printed on the sides of the machine or it will be displayed on the sides of the screen. There will be many colorful buttons arranged below the monitor with which you can make your moves in the screen.

Some basic buttons that you need to understand before playing any video poker machine would be like cash out button, when you press this button you can quit the game. Deal or Draw, when you press this button the machine displays a random deal of cards. If your money is over and you still want to play, you need to insert another coin and press the button again to have the cards dealt again for the next round. And many buttons like Hold or Discard which is all necessary to make the replacement dealings in to effect.

Video poker works based on command prompts, you need to press the correct buttons to enable the program to make the next move that is required to play. Until you set the command for the video poker machine to work, it does not process any further after acting on a previous command.

With advanced computer usage most people are equipped with the basics of how a video poker machine should be handled. In fact the usage of such machines has become a second behavior.

Understanding poker rules

Understanding poker rules and playing the game decently is very important in making ay playing atmosphere pleasant.

Poker rules that govern the etiquettes of the poker players require:-
Avoiding usage of illicit drugs, cigar or drinks while at play in disciplined casinos
Not using indecent cheating on opponents
Not using abusive language and creating chaos to distract players form concentrating in the game.
Not throwing away chips off the table and splashing pots or tearing of the cards because they are going to lose
Piling up chips in a disturbing way that interferes with dealing
Not communicating in an alien language during the game.

Poker rules that govern the betting and money proceeding may require that:-
A single wholesome buy-in that is enough for the whole game should be purchased.
Some rooms entertain re-buys whereas most do not entertain re-buys especially in limit holdem games
Some players happen to switch in between tables voluntarily, such players are not refunded what they did bet and they should make a fresh purchase to support the new game.
A safe guideline for buy-ins in limit games is to get 10 times the stack of the limit if you are an aggressive player.

Poker rules that govern the betting and raising of stakes are:-
In unlimited and pot limit games, players are permitted to bet unlimited stakes.
Almost all the poker games other than some variants of lowball poker permits check raises.
The minimum amount of bet that any player can place is based on the smallest blind bet placed at any point in time.
Most games that have just 2 betting rounds allow and maximum of one call and 4 raises and in games with 3 betting rounds there are only 3 raises allowed per bet.
If a player does not wish to place any bet or raise, they can pass the action by saying pass verbally or by rapping the table twice.
If for some reason after passing the player requires to joint back he need to request “time” which may give the player a right to set in to action. But such should be done before 2 or more players have acted.

Apart from the basics of playing the game including card ranking, betting structure, and participation criteria most of the poker rooms employ varied poker rules that govern the behavior of the players.

No Limit Hold’em

In no limit holde’m we need to start with reasonable rakes, to be precise high rakes. Most players with some skills in their fingers love to play the no limit holde’m; for these are the games that can come in with some really good chips inside during the split in.

In no limit holde’m where the table is occupied by expert players it is really hard to have odds in our favor. A big table is even complicating to let odds work and the amount of chips to lose also is quite high.

I have won no limit holde’m 70% of the time I play and that was because I used to play very tight especially when I have a strong hand. I never did mind losing little pots; however, I never used to risk betting for those juicy pots where odds are against me. I play logics not luck. I believe luck is just a part of the game; the rest is common sense and some mathematics.

I never feel overconfident winning 70% of the time; I would like to be frank about that most of my hits were with fresh players. I have lost quite a lot of tables in no limit holde’m with better players. However, good we have been, there is a yet to arrive expert to put you down the next time!

Limit Hold’em

Limit hold’em games are safe plays that fit in to your bankroll most of the times. The advantage of playing limit hold’em lies with that it is quite possible to arrive at the maximum loss or risk involved in the game. Beginners should start with limit hold’em to avoid betting more than what their pocket can support.

Playing low limit hold’em could be even wiser if you are new to a particular site until you get used to the kind of players in the site. I used to play (3/6) games if I am playing in a new site. Even important was the regularity with which I had to play. A small break made me loose my logics. It is truly unavoidable. Before I graduated to playing high limit hold’em I was skilled enough with not losing lot of money pretty quickly.

With limit hold’em or unlimited ones or of any kind of poker it is not uncommon to have the chip stacks grow tall and short. The tallest of stacks in most cases are when we start with a strong hand and the shortest is with trap hands.

So, limit hold’em or any other kind of poker can be kind of tough. We need to exactly learn to calculate if it is really going to happen or not!

Poker History

Poker history has one thing in common with the current day trend like the craze of players having crossed limits of bankrolls in making very big buy-ins that their budget may not support. Overconfidence and wrong presumptions has led many players to catch up with making big bets that are enough to burn their fingers and some worse enough to burn the wallet to nothing but ashes.

Poker history has not been well documented in early decades, but with improvement in technology it may not be any surprise that all our current online games get stored in memory chips contributing to future poker history!

The exact roots of poker history are not really known. But it was formerly a game of cheats and thieves! But today, the 52 deck card game is popular around millions of families around the world. Poker history that tracks back through a decade speaks of these as games that were meant to be hobbies of the rich that were played in gambling houses.

Poker history speaks of how a particular variant grew in a location to be prefixed with the name of the place like Texas or Omaha….The game is all fun, history of any order makes me sleep, but I am quite interested in the stories of the poker history like once upon a time 3 players played card games at sea betting all their money in the game…

Poker bluffing

Poker bluffing can turn out to be cartoon shows at the tables without expertise. Poker bluffing can be easy in casinos where all the players are assembled in a table in the room and you have a major fraction of chances in estimating your opponent moves from their body language and eyes. But the same may not be easy in online games!

Poker bluffing in online games may or may not let your opponent react in the way you want them to react. May be your intended opponent was playing multiple games and was splitting his concentration between multiple tables and did not read your skillful bluffing in a way you really wanted.

There are many chances that all your mental math and expert calculation towards poker bluffing can be nullified with all your efforts flying in the air by an awkward move of a loose aggressive player. At the time you least expected that crap fishy player to bet, he might keep going and even winning the pot, making you feel defeated to a donkey!

Poker bluffing is a major part of the game; however, a number of foolish moves by your opponents can turn your approach a crap too! It requires a lot of experience to get results with poker bluffing in a play.

Poker Tournament

A poker tournament is becoming a common happening. A home poker tournament is organized in drawing room tables between friends. An online poker tournament is organized by poker websites between participants from around the world. Creaming the top of them all are the big cash tourneys like the WPT and WSOP.

In any kind of poker tournament it is not uncommon that we calculate wrong odds and arrive at horrible assumptions. Of all kind of assumptions that can hinder our performance is being mind blocked when playing with the players who have been famed for their play.

I believe that every new table is a new slate and there is not going to be special lady luck behind the professional and the bad spirits behind a new player. Any poker tournament can be won against a player with any degree of experience or crown provided we are equipped to apply the rights rules in the right place.

It also does happen that we assume that we are good players and the rest are not. In any poker tournament you must learn to play without presumptions that you are good or bad. Play every move wisely without underestimating or overestimating your opponent’s capabilities. Above all be confident!

What is a draw poker?

What is draw poker? With all cards dealt face down it is going to be difficult to arrive at what your opponent has in these games, making the show even competitive is the replacement of the cards dealt. In draw poker a player has the option of discarding the cards that they feel cannot lead them to form a hand. They can have a replacement for the number of cards they discard.

Filling the missing pieces in draw poker may sound easy, but not really, the game is equally challenging like the Texas and Omaha, and draw poker requires lot of luck and some skills to fold at the right time.

A requirement to replace just a single missing for a straight may be a lot of chances; however, making a straight with 2 or more missing in draw poker is truly a rare probability.

The number of draws in variations of Draw poker is either restricted or players are required to pay a sum of stakes to make a draw after a certain limit. There are several variations of draw poker. This is the most basic of poker versions. This game is played more in kitchen table than in casinos!

What is Stud Poker?

One thing that most poker players could encounter at some point in their stud poker journey is the kind of hands like K-Q, K-J, Q-J, and A-T. These hands in a stud poker might seem like truly good hands, but though are they are too good, you might not be able to chew them. These can lead to sickening losses especially in a big table, where all the time you have been thinking that it is a good slick.

But with stud poker games, such trapped premium pockets might not be difficult to decide to fold or bet if you are good at calculating the odds based on the face up cards of the other players. With most of the street cards being dealt face up except for the last one, especially in stud poker a little mental arithmetic about who has what can help. Calculating odds are easy in stud poker than in Texas with most cards being dealt face up.

Say you have a K-J trap in your initial hands of stud poker, if you happen to see a face up Q suit that you need in someone’s face up hand you are losing some chances of a flush, though you can still make a straight with a Q from the other suit. Well, such bit of calculations is a must and needless to say despite all such mental math you can still lose!
