A poker tournament is becoming a common happening. A home poker tournament is organized in drawing room tables between friends. An online poker tournament is organized by poker websites between participants from around the world. Creaming the top of them all are the big cash tourneys like the WPT and WSOP.
In any kind of poker tournament it is not uncommon that we calculate wrong odds and arrive at horrible assumptions. Of all kind of assumptions that can hinder our performance is being mind blocked when playing with the players who have been famed for their play.
I believe that every new table is a new slate and there is not going to be special lady luck behind the professional and the bad spirits behind a new player. Any poker tournament can be won against a player with any degree of experience or crown provided we are equipped to apply the rights rules in the right place.
It also does happen that we assume that we are good players and the rest are not. In any poker tournament you must learn to play without presumptions that you are good or bad. Play every move wisely without underestimating or overestimating your opponent’s capabilities. Above all be confident!
