What is Stud Poker?

One thing that most poker players could encounter at some point in their stud poker journey is the kind of hands like K-Q, K-J, Q-J, and A-T. These hands in a stud poker might seem like truly good hands, but though are they are too good, you might not be able to chew them. These can lead to sickening losses especially in a big table, where all the time you have been thinking that it is a good slick.

But with stud poker games, such trapped premium pockets might not be difficult to decide to fold or bet if you are good at calculating the odds based on the face up cards of the other players. With most of the street cards being dealt face up except for the last one, especially in stud poker a little mental arithmetic about who has what can help. Calculating odds are easy in stud poker than in Texas with most cards being dealt face up.

Say you have a K-J trap in your initial hands of stud poker, if you happen to see a face up Q suit that you need in someone’s face up hand you are losing some chances of a flush, though you can still make a straight with a Q from the other suit. Well, such bit of calculations is a must and needless to say despite all such mental math you can still lose!
